● Pioneered an Engineering Package for the Indian Navy P17 - Alpha Navy frigate program, the first-ever localized engineering design for a highly complicated system. Built high levels of customer engagement and communication to convince internal stakeholders, technically and strategically. Nominated for the coveted RR Henry Trusted to Deliver Excellence award in 2017.
● Chief Engineer and product owner of S1600, a highly reliable engine family from the product portfolio. Reduced costs by 34% through localization, component testing, simultaneous activities, measurement, endurance testing, and qualification processes.
● Delivered record reduction in Field failures for components and sub-systems and has Led assessment and released products to comply with international product safety standards. A recent New Product Launch is a battery energy storage system powering a village of 1000 inhabitants.
● Led a transformation program and coached the leaders to successfully integrate 50 RR Marine engineers into a smaller RR Power Systems organization of 40. Designed and implemented an intense 90-day Re-skilling training plan that expanded the engineers’ domain knowledge and increased their opportunities for global positions.
● Conceived and implemented strategic plans to improve Joint Venture’s profitability. Forecasted and identified areas of improvement beyond my current role eg: Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing stability, and Order quantity. Reduced the uncertainties of the supply chain and addressed inefficiencies of production to the tune of 3.5 million Euros.
● Broadened business opportunities and increased India revenue, by offering customized solutions to the customers. Built Data Analytics teams from scratch and introduced engine health monitoring capabilities to generate significant fuel savings and failure prediction contributing to carbon footprint and cost targets.
● Generated 6.4mio Euros (EBIT) savings in 2023, through Product Cost optimization. Challenged engineering decisions through logical reasoning and persuasion also established a transparent process. Mentored the organization to adopt the process and meet changing external conditions.
● Increased attractiveness and improved visibility for the India organization by selecting, developing, and coaching 3 hi-potential candidates (2 women) through a transparent process to become Directors within the global organization. Additionally inspired stakeholders to develop mutual trust and empathy, by providing Indo-German cultural awareness, language courses, and exchange programs.
● Promoted and implemented the LiveWell program activities spanning the financial, mental, and psychological well-being of the employees; the program became an excellent standard popular with employees, directly increasing performance, increased engagement by 30 %, and reduced attrition by 40% and the organization was certified Bronze twice in a row.
● Sponsored and led IT transformation programs. Moved away from a server-heavy architecture towards virtual machines. Researched state-of-the-art, compared across industries, and implemented tailor-made technologies. Identified and implemented adaptive work from home.
● A 60kW demonstrator donated to a village through Corporate Social Responsibility funding. Coming up with a creative approach to developing a state-of-the-art Battery Energy Storage System, with Solar, Genset, and island switching modes was designed from scratch, developed, tested, installed, and handed over to a village nearby Pune. The BESS now powers up a village of 1000 inhabitants allowing them access to uninterrupted power to their schools, water supply, community rooms, and a temple.
● Thought leader providing advice on the study of hydrogen as an alternate fuel to customers, highlighting the challenges, and significance and helping them with the implementation. Provided technical inputs to industry-govt bodies to be included in the policy framework of the national Hydrogen mission.
